Warm greetings to all Muslim sisters in Southeast Michigan! It’s with immense joy that we at the Muslim Youth of Greater Detroit (MYGD) announce our summer program, Sakinah. This 8-week program begins on June 22nd and will be conducted every Sunday through August 3, from after Dhuhr until 4:00 pm.

Sakinah is not just an ordinary summer program; it’s a special opportunity to fortify bonds of sisterhood through lessons inspired by the illustrious female Sahabiyyāt. Our mission is to encourage unity, mutual respect, and spiritual development in an engaging, educational environment.

To be held at the Islamic Association of Greater Detroit, this program welcomes all middle school-aged girls excited to participate in enlightening lessons, recreational activities, sports, and crafts.

Never experienced a program like this before? Don’t worry! Sakinah is the perfect introduction. We, at MYGD, are committed to nurturing a safe, supportive, and vibrant atmosphere, thus fostering the perfect learning environment for everyone.

Be prepared to enjoy a Sunday afternoon filled with camaraderie, faith exploration, and a whole lot of fun! And did we mention, we will be providing pizza!

Note: The program fee is $70, which covers all the materials, activities, and meals throughout the 8 weeks.
