What is Youth Day? A Youth Day is basically an all day seminar on Islam and the theme chosen.  It usually contains four lectures by well-known nationally acclamied scholars as well as some sort of entertainment.  The cost is very low per person, with food included.  It is a great success with over 250 Muslims from across Michigan coming together to learn about Islam.  Past speakers include Saad Quadri, Habeeb Quadri, Usama Sidi Canon, Azam Hashmi, Kamran Riaz, Ashhar Ali, and Hafiz Rabbani.

AbdelRahman Murphy: Brother AbdelRahman Murphy is a graduate of the University of Illinois at Chicago with a degree in Teaching of English and Religious Studies, and is currently pursuing his Masters in Counseling and Family Therapy. His Islamic studies background includes completing an Imam Certificate Program, designed for young leaders from America and the UK in Makkah, Saudi Arabia.
Currently, he is the full-time youth director of the Muslim Community of Knoxville - the director of the      Roots Program, http://www.rootsprogram.com/.
